Maths - Position and Movement

We looked at co-ordinates and following route directions.  We also made up mini battleship games and challenged each other.

 We learned about directions using right, left, 90 and 180 degrees, clockwise and anticlockwise.  We completed a treasure hunt by following directions using these words and found some tasty gold coins at the end.

We even looked at grid references (4 and 6 figure references) 

We had a look at a map of theWest Mainland of Orkney and were pinpointing some locations using 4 or 6 figure grid references.  We had lots of fun finding familiar places on the map too.
