The 7 Renewable Energies

Last week we were learning all about Global Warming and how it is causing damage to the world we live in.

We realise that it is the bad gases (carbon dioxide) that is causing the damage and we already know that power stations create a lot of this gas when producing electricity.  Coal, oil and gas cause this gas when burned.

We have been learning about the 7 different sources of energy which can also be used to make electricity.
At this stage we were only learning their names and main features.
We will be learning about each source in more detail over the next few weeks.

To help us remember the names of the 7 renewable energy sources we created some cartoon mascots which include the main features of our given energy.

We worked in pairs or trios to complete this task.  To be successful we had to work together, share our ideas and make sure everyone was involved at each stage.  We are pleased to report that every group was very successful and showed super team work skills.  We have definately improved our skills in team work recently.  Well done us!

As we continued the task our ideas were becoming much more developed and we enjoyed sharing our ideas with Miss Kelday and Mrs Meek.
They were really impressed with our ideas and how deeply we thought about our designs.

Have a look at our short video clips (COMING SOON). We are explaining our designs and how they link to the main features of the renewable energy sources.
