Health Week

Monday

Health Week got off to a super start.
These are some of the activities we participated in today.

P1 and P5 went a walk over Brinkies.  We had lots of fun looking for birds and flowers on the way.  We all had a set of binoculars to look at things closer up and see things that were far away.  We enjoyed pairing up with P1.  We think we must have walked about 1.5 - 2 miles today.

Alex Clark from Cycle Orkney came to work with us in the morning.  He was teaching us how to look after our bikes and make sure they are safe for riding.  He taught us the ABC rule - Air, Brakes and Chain.  We now know how to check over our bikes before going on a cycle.
Fiona Towrie taught us how to give a hand and leg massage.  The boys really enjoyed getting up on the massage table.  We also had a go at relaxing at the end of the session - this was a really good tip for people who struggle sleeping.    We managed to ALL stay silent for 3 minutes - WOW!!

Lindsay Taylor for RSPB came to give us information about what we can look out for on our walk.  She taught us the difference between the types of birds and flowers we might see.  A lot of us remembered some bird facts from P4.
