Thursday
Today we were very busy. We started the day with a group task. We had to plan and design a healthy cafe and present our ideas to the rest of the class. We came up with lots of good ideas and allworked well in our teams.
After break we spent time with Janet and Tony from the NHS Mental Health team. They spoke to us about our feelings and how important it is to talk to people about them.
We completed a quick questionairre to help us talk to other people about their likes and hobbies. Then we relaxed to a song called 'A bag full of worries'. The song was about a young girl who had lots of worries and carried them around with her. It was like carrying around a really heavy school bag all day, with it getting bigger and bigger everytime she added a new worry. No-one took her worries seriously until one day her granny encouraged her to talk to her about her worries. The more she shared these worries the smaller her 'bag' became.
After lunch we worked with Neil Taylor. He was teaching us how to be safe in the kitchen and when using cooking equipment. We made some healthy 'Rainbow veg and chicken fajitas'. They were delicious!
Straight after our sookery session we went to the netball pitch with P7 to learn about how to look after our teeth. Karyn, Lynn and Indie helped us understand dental care by playing some games with us. They also showed us how many teaspoons of sugar are in our favourite 'naughty' foods!
What a busy day! We even managed to find time to get our Healthy Cafe presentations finished off...we will present them to the class tomorrow!

We really enjoyed the cooking because we got to do something new and it was really good fun. We even got to eat the fajitas at the end.
