Balloon Rocket Experiments

 

In project this week we are completing some scientific experiments.

 

We are building and testing balloon rockets in small groups.  We are each making 1 small change to our rocket to see whether it effects the speed or distance the rocket travels.

 

Yesterday we considered the possible variables.

Here is what we came up with:

 

1. change the balloon size

2. change the ballon shape

3. change the length of straw

4. change the weight (amount of card used)

5. change the angle of the string

6. change the number of balloons used

 

In our groups we also made a hypothesis (guess) as to the results of our expriement.

 

We will be testing them properly tomorrow and calculating the speed and distance at which they travel.
