Space

This term our project is Space.
We started the topic by thinking up some Key Learning Questions.  This is a good way for us to design our own learning about Space and Miss Kelday will help to organise lessons to match our learning questions.

First we learnt the names and the order of all the planets in our solar system.

To do this we created a mnemonic.
A mnemonic is a learning technique that helps you to remember or retain information.
We are using a funny sentence to help us remember.

Here are some of our planet mnemonics.

Kelsi:  My Very Excited Mum Just Slid Under Nessie
Sydney:  Mum's Vinegar Eggs Make Joe Sick Upon Noisy Penny
Amber:  My Very Energetic Monkey Johnny Sits Up Nicely
Erik:  My Very Entertaining Monkey Jumps Sometimes Up Neighbours Pants!

Some of us have included Pluto as part of our mnemonic even though it is not classed as a planet anymore.  It is now known as a dwarf planet.
