In maths in P6 we are learning to use whole numbers to add and subtract. As part of this we have been working on a variety of different activities, most of which have been active games. We have really enjoyed doing these active lessons and have developed our understanding of whole number through this.
This is us practicing our addition skills by finding a partner when Miss Shearer shouted 'stop' and using the numbers on our whiteboards to make an addition sum which we had to solve as quick as we could! We did some very speedy maths!
Then we worked with a partner to make addition and subtraction sums using the numbers we rolled with a dice. This really tested our skills as it could have been any number we rolled!
We all agreed we liked this way of learning in maths and we are going to keep doing a variety of active activities in maths!
